GATSBY

Danish / Scottish rock band.

Biography

Gatsby Started life in 1999, after a chance meeting at an Irish pub. Kevin who had recently moved to Denmark from Scotland, was playing a solo gig at the bar. Jesper asked if he needed a drummer, and 10 minutes later he had picked up his drums and they jammed on stage.

Jesper had previously played with bassist, Morten Sonne, who was asked to join, which completed the Gatsby trio.

An Ep was recorded followed up by the critically acclaimed 2002 Brit rock album “Meant to be” The played many jobs over the next few years and started work on the second album, before family life and work commitments put plans on hold. Over the next many years, theh band played the occasional reunion gig before twenty years later completing the unfinished album “How to hide in Public” a combination of old songs that were never released and new compositions.

This was followed up by the harder “electro rock” sound of 2023’s album “Seasonal changes in a mundane world” and 2024’s “Empathy for the dead”

In 2024 the band line up was completed by the addition of the immensely talented and experienced guitarist Anders Overgaard.

The band are currently recording their 5th album, with a sound that has them returning to their roots, it is due to be released in 2025.
